Web Site Search Function
The web site search function is used to find specific
pages within the OLGC site. It enables you to search for
specific words or phrases in any combination, anywhere in
the site.
The search function is located on the blue menu bar under 'text
only' function.
To carry out a search, enter your search criteria in the
search box provided.
Web site search tips
When your search command consists of more than one word,
enclose the text with double quotes - eg "text here" -
to ensure that the exact phrase is retrieved.
You can search for different words that start with the
same letters. Type the first part of that word followed
by an asterisk (*) enclosed in double quotes. For example
"judge*" will retrieve every occurrence of the words
judge, judgement and judges.
Search terms can be combined using the operators AND,
OR, NOT. For example:
-
Dogs OR cats will retrieve every
document that contains either word or both words
-
Dogs AND cats will retrieve every
document that contains both words
-
Dogs NOT cats will retrieve every
document that contains the word 'dogs', but will
eliminate documents that include both words
Database Search Function
The database search function is used to find specific
details about a licensed premise that holds a liquor and/or gaming licence, it allows you to perform two types of
searches, a basic search which returns search results
from keywords and phrases and an advanced search
which returns search results based on specific criteria
entered i.e. premises name, premises licence number etc.
Database search tips - basic search
Use the basic search field to search for licensed
premises containing specific words, phrases or numbers
in any combination. Enter your word(s) or premises
licence number in the basic search field and click the
search button. The results will be displayed on a new
page.
Performing a basic search may take longer to produce
search results than the advanced search

Word and number fields
Enter your search criteria in one or more of the fields
provided. Either enter the information for a field in
full
or
Use (*) or (%) keys at the beginning or end of a
partial word/number to retrieve every occurrence
containing that particular text. For example: *club*
will return search results for clubhouse, nightclub and
the club.
Performing a search using premises names will also
search licensed premises past names.
The use of Boolean operators (and, or, not) and minus
and plus signs (-, +) is not supported by this search
Type of licence and licence status
The type of licence field will allow you to search for
licensed premises within a certain group e.g. hotel
licences, restaurant licences. This field will allow
you to search for licences that are current, applied
for or all (all includes suspended, surrendered and
revoked licences, refused and withdrawn applications or
certificates granted).
Entering many fields in the advanced search may
result in no records being returned.
Information for Various Groups
The following is a list of pages that may be of interest to specific
visitors. Just click any of the links provided to open the desired page(s).
All care has been taken to provide visitors with accurate
information. Visitors may notice that there is more
information about some areas than for others. That is
because OLGC's site is in it's early stages and further
enhancements are still being carried out.
We invite all visitors to return periodically, to see
what else has been added to the web site and to send us suggestions for improvement.
