Our approach to privacy
The Office of the Liquor and Gambling Commissioner (OLGC)
is committed to protecting peoples privacy and the
confidentiality of personal information. Management of
information collected at OLGC is consistent with the
South Australian Government's Information Privacy

The following statement relates to our online service
provision via this website.
The information we collect
OLGC collects certain information that will allow us to
perform a variety of functions and activities for which
we are responsible. OLGC makes a record of your visit to
the website and logs the following information for
Auditing purposes:

This information is analysed at the end of each month to
determine the site's usage statistics and outline future
site changes.
E-mail address
We will only record an e-mail address if you send us a
message or in the case of a licensee e-mailing us, this
office may record the email address to update that
licensee’s contact details. In all other cases,
e-mail addresses will only be used for the purpose for
which it has been provided and will not be added to a
mailing list. We will not use an e-mail address for any
other purpose, and will not disclose it, without a
persons prior consent.
OLGC retains the e-mail address of people who send
E-mails through the "Contact Us" facility, for the
purpose of sending a response. E-mail addresses are
stored in a secure area within the Government's Message
Services System and will not be used for any other
purpose nor disclosed without your consent.
Collection of personal information
The main way that we collect personal information from
you is where you have lodged forms prescribed or approved
under the legislation we administer e.g. to obtain some
form of licence or to vary current licence conditions.
Personal information may include your full name, date of
birth, telephone and fax numbers, e-mail address,
residential and postal address.
Whenever personal information is collected, reasonable
steps shall be taken to inform you of the purpose for
which the information is collected and, where applicable,
any law that requires particular information to be
collected.
Database quality and data security
Every effort is made to ensure that information collected
or disclosed is accurate, complete and up-to-date. We
have used our best endeavours to secure information
technology arrangements to protect the personal
information we hold and where possible limit the access
to personal information recorded on OLGC’s
database. These measures complement our other privacy
safeguards and help to protect personal information from
misuse, loss or unauthorised access, and from
unauthorised modification or disclosure.
Personal information will not be disclosed outside of
this Office unless the disclosure is authorised by you,
or required or authorised by law.

of South Australia disclaims any responsibility for that
use and any liability to the user, to the extent
permitted at law.
Personal access code
To access restricted content on this website, you must
hold a current subscription to our website. You will be
granted a subscriber number with your subscription, which
allows you, or ONE person you nominate, to register for
access to restricted content.
Each access code is restricted to one user. It is for
the user’s personal use only. As the user, you are
responsible for protecting the confidentiality of your
username and password. You must not make you username or
password available to anyone else. Any breach of this
term will result in termination of your access to
restricted content on this site
E-Commerce
Security
When you pay a fee or account through our web site your
personal and financial details are protected at all
stages of the transaction. OLGC does NOT store your
credit card details on its servers at any stage of the
transaction. Once the credit card details have been sent
to the department’s financial institution, they are
no longer known to the system. All transactions are
secured by encryption technology which enables
information to be sent over the Internet in an encrypted
form which ensures protection against unauthorised access
to your personal information.
Notwithstanding the above, OLGC makes no warranty in
respect of the strength or effectiveness of the above
encryption and OLGC is not responsible for events arising
from unauthorised access of the information you provide.

Where an application is for the grant of a limited
