Extended Trading Authorisation

An extended trading authorisation allows the sale of liquor
during the following times:
Monday to Saturday between midnight and 5 am;
Sunday between 8 am and 11 am and 8 pm and 5 am.
An extended trading authorisation will not allow liquor to be
sold on Good Friday, the day after Good Friday (i.e. between 12
midnight and 5 am Easter Saturday), or the day after Christmas
Day (i.e. between 12 midnight and 5 am Boxing Day).
Extended trading authorisation can apply to the whole or
specific areas of a premises. This may be specified by the
applicant when applying for an extended trading authorisation,
or by restrictions imposed by the licensing authority, council
or other interested parties.
Extended trading may be limited as a result of council, police
or local community intervention or objections to the application.
Variation to an Extended Trading Authorisation
An application can be made to vary the existing extended trading
authorisation by the same process as applying for a new extended
trading authorisation. A variation to an extended trading
authorisation may include changes to the areas covered or
changes to the days or hours.
Criteria to be Satisfied when Applying for an Extended
Trading Authorisation
The licensing authority must be satisfied that if the application
was granted it would be unlikely to result in undue offence, annoyance,
disturbance, or inconvenience licensee implement appropriate harm
minimisation strategies.
